North Korea Deception

Litlinks Review

I am a super fan of spy thrillers and when I came across this book, I just couldn’t wait to finish it. It is fast paced thriller that will not let you keep the book down.

North Korea Deception by Richard Lyntton is the first book in the Deception series, offering a fast-paced political spy thriller that delves into the perilous world of international intrigue. The story follows Jack Steele, a British journalist and former tank commander, as he navigates a web of deceit and global conspiracies to prevent a nuclear disaster. His journey takes him to the Tumen Triangle, a region bordering Russia, China, and North Korea, where the stakes are as high as the tension is gripping.

I loved the book for its adrenaline-pumping action, complex plot twists, and well-developed protagonist.

Lyntton’s ability to blend the political and personal aspects of Steele’s mission adds depth to this high-stakes narrative.

I am a big fan of authors like Ludlum, le Carré, and Baldacci and this book balanced thought-provoking dilemmas with edge-of-your-seat action so I think this is one of the best of the best in ints genre. Whether you’re intrigued by international politics or just enjoy a solid spy adventure, North Korea Deception delivers on multiple fronts.

Can’t wait to read the next two books of the series.

An unimaginable nuclear disaster. Thousands of lives at stake. One man can prevent it…as a global conspiracy plots his assassination. Buckle up now for this gripping, action-packed thriller of international intrigue, espionage, suspense, and deceit.
Can a reporter who hates corruption stay true to himself when lives are on the line?
Is he being set up?
Jack Steele survived the first Gulf War, Bosnia, and his time as a UN peacekeeper. As a captain and tank commander, he saw the dark side of war. Skilled in language, he speaks Russian, German, French, and Bosnian. That’s why they sent him.
Two UN officials have gone missing.
They were last seen in the Tumen Triangle.
A 324-mile river that borders Russia, China, and North Korea, it’s a place few Westerners have heard of or understand. It would be a prize-winning story if he could crack it. Sometimes fate puts a person where they need to be – and then he saw the child fall beneath the ice.
When Steele rescued the boy, it was the first domino to fall.
Would it lead to North Korea launching a nuclear missile and taking the lives of thousands of innocent citizens?
