While the primary focus of this platform is to promote literary works, regardless of the publisher, we also accept submissions from authors wishing to share stories that merit publication. We exercise reasonable care to respect and protect the intellectual property rights of all authors and publishers when reviewing or displaying existing works, and we strive to ensure that such works are not misrepresented on this website. Litlinks by HSD Ascent is an author-driven independent publishing house based in Canada, committed to discovering and nurturing diverse voices. While we primarily focus on publishing works by Canadian authors, we also welcome submissions from talented writers around the world. Our self-publishing program includes both fiction and non-fiction across a wide range of genres.
What to Include in Your Submission
1. Introductory Email
Tell us a little about yourself and your project. This will help us market your work in the most effective way.
Mention your writing background and what inspired you to write this book.
2. Manuscript
Attach your work as a Word (.docx) file.
(Please do not send links to Google Drive, or other cloud platforms.)
Your manuscript should include:
Author biography: A short overview of who you are, including relevant writing experience or publishing history.
Contact details: Include your full name, email address, and city or country of residence.
Project summary: What is your book about? Why is it significant? Why are you the right person to tell this story? (Providing more details isn’t mandatory, but the more you share, the better we can create a tailored marketing plan for your story)
Manuscript: We do not accept partial manuscripts. Ensure that you submit the complete manuscript.
3. Synopsis
A one-page synopsis (single-spaced) summarising the complete story, including major plot points and conclusion.
4. Literary CV (Optional)
Include a short CV detailing your previous publications, awards, writing residencies, or other relevant experiences (if applicable).
Before You Submit
Please ensure your submission is well edited and formatted professionally. Editing is an optional service that can be provided separately if required.
Allow up to 1–2 weeks for our editorial team to review your submission.
Remember, editors are not magicians—their role is to refine, polish, and prepare your work for publication, not to complete unfinished stories. Please ensure that you submit a fully completed manuscript or all stories (in the case of an anthology) before sending it for publishing.
